An Assessment of Software Sneak Analysision. Young, bright shell remnants generally have spectral indices α larger than the 0.5 expected from basic shock acceleration theory. Fainter, older shell remnants have a wide range of α. Evidence on whether or not particle acceleration is continuing in SNRs is also discussed.

Developments in Plant and Soil Sciencesl aspect of the possible acceleration mechanism. This investigation is made on the basis of the vacuum field of an orthogonal rotator. Effects of special relativity and classical radiation theory are taken into account. Results are discussed in terms of the “critical surface” and “acceleration boundary”.
