An Adaptive LOOCV-Based Algorithm for Solving Elliptic PDEs via RBF Collocation technique. This approach allows us to locate the areas that need to be refined, also including the chance to add or remove adaptively any points. The algorithm turns out to be flexible and effective by means of a good interaction between error indicator and refinement procedure. Numerical experiments point out the performance of our scheme.

First-Order System Least Squares Finite-Elements for Singularly Perturbed Reaction-Diffusion Equatioed meshes, but with a novel finite-element method that yields a symmetric formulation while also inducing a so-called “balanced” norm. We prove continuity and coercivity of the FOSLS weak form, present a suitable piecewise uniform mesh, and report on the results of numerical experiments that demonstrate the accuracy and robustness of the method.

Mesh-Hardened Finite Element Analysis Through a Generalized Moving Least-Squares Approximation of Vag Least-Squares (GMLS) regression technique to approximation of bilinear forms and using the mesh only for the integration of the GMLS polynomial basis. Our approach yields a non-conforming discretization of the weak equations that can be handled by standard discontinuous Galerkin or interior penalty terms.

Adaptive Refinement Techniques for RBF-PU Collocationbased on the comparison of two collocation solutions evaluated on a coarser set and a finer one, while the second one depends on an error estimate that is obtained by a comparison between the global collocation solution and the associated local RBF interpolant. Numerical results support our study and show the effectiveness of our algorithms.
