We have produced and are testing CCD structures that utilize both surface and buried channel structures. We are developing selenium blocking layers that are optimized for electron signal transfer to a CCD.

Digital mammographic application of a single photon counting pixel detectorer. We have tested the image quality and the stability of our acquisition system imaging some phantoms used for mammografic quality checks. Our system allows to see low contrast details with a patient dose comparable with that given in mammographic examinations.

Characterization of an FFDM unit based on a-Se direct conversion detectorcomplete characterization of such system: detector response, MTF, NPS and DQE calculation will be presented. MTF and DQE at Nyquist frequency (5.88 lp/mm) are equal to 38% and 15%, respectively. The detector linearity is very good under the typical mammographie tested exposure conditions.
