A New Numerical Method to Study Phase Transitionsxponents by studying the barriers in the vicinity of a critical point. Some new results on exponents and conformal charge in frustrated XY models and a related coupled XY-Ising model in d = 2 are presented. These show that the transitions in these models are in new universality classes and that the conformal charge varies with a parameter.

Simulating Spin-Fermion Systems: Kondo Lattice Resultsrious quantities in the thermodynamic limit. In particular, we compare spin correlations with RKKY predictions and two-impurity data, and note the opening of a “Kondo gap” as the temperature is lowered.

Critical Properties of Strongly Interacting Bosons on a Latticence and study the properties of the predicted “Bose glass” phase as well as an unanticipated Anderson-like insulating regime. For the uniform system, we study the critical behaviour of the superfluid density and the compressibility, and measure the exponents . and ., which agree with predictions based on a scaling analysis.

Modelling of Orientational Ordering in Lipid Monolayersd versions of Monte Carlo codes are much more efficient than continuum Monte Carlo methods, in spite of huge storage requirements.
