Thus N.-methoxy C acts only as U; N.-hydroxy C, N.-MeC, and N.-MeG act ambiguously; and N.-acetyl C base-pairs only with G. Three different substituents on the N. of A did not affect A·U pairing, indicating an anti conformation.

Business Cycles: Discrete Time, bonds is not understood; it appears, however, that a hydroxyl group can interfere with it. The results of this investigation are of particular importance because of their relevance to the diol epoxides that are implicated as ultimate carcinogenic forms of several polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-97291-1lorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) and butylated hydroxy anisole (BHA) were found to promote the formation of both foci and hepatomas. In particular, TCDD is a millionfold more efficient, whereas BHA is significantly less efficient than phenobarbital as promoting agents.
