Brain Cholinergic Enzymes in Schizophrenianover of both substrates and their product ACh. In human autopsy material the cholinergic brain enzymes and receptors are the only substances that can be measured reliably. Hence, this review will concentrate on these enzymes in schizophrenia.

Treatment of Huntington’s Disease and Tardive Dyskinesia with Choline Chloridetrom, 1971; Klawans and Rubovits, 1972; 1974; Gerlach .., 1974). If choline chloride increases brain cholinergic activity, it would also be expected to improve the abnormal movements of patients with Huntington’s disease and tardive dyskinesia in patients who were benefited by physostigmine.

Cognitive Effects of Physostigmine and Choline Chloride in Normal Subjects that cholinergic mechanisms play an important role in cognitive activities such as learning and memory. One hypothesis of particular interest to us was that some aspects of human cognitive functioning may be improved by giving drugs that increase the level of central cholinergic activity.
