描述Water and Biological Macromolecules is a new volume in the series, Topics in Molecular and Structural Biology. Water is so ubiquitous that it has, to a greater degree, been overlooked in molecular biology. This book looks at the biochemical and thermodynamic properties in relation to polypeptides, nucleic acids, polysaccharides and lipids. Water is so pervasive that it would be an impossible task to cover all its features. With this in mind each contributor has taken special care to refer to other review articles or books to allow the reader to further expand their knowledge.

Polysaccharide Interactions with Watert infinite array of chemical structures and conformations can be generated for polysaccharides. Additional variability may arise from environmental changes such as ionic strength and degree of hydration. More information about polysaccharides can be found in an excellent monograph by Yalpani (1988).
