Theoretical Analyses of Rotating Cavitation in Inducers the previous 2-D cases and predicted forward and backward propagating modes. These were reported at the last meeting of the conference (Tsujimoto et al., 1995). However, most R.C. found in experiments propagates forward, although the backward mode was also found recently (Hashimoto et al., 1996).

Flutter Analysis of Two — Dimensional Viscous Subsonic and Transonic Flow in Turbomachines Using thenal problem are used. Unsteady inviscid calculations are performed with the same code using non-reflecting boundary condtitions..Emphasis is laid on non-linear effects within the blade flutter phenomenon, i.e. cases where separation and shock boundary-layer interaction occurs in compressor cascades.

Some Applications of a Time-Linearized Euler Method to Flutter & Forced Response in Turbomachineryunloaded flat plate cascade theory for test cases involving forced response due to wakes and pressure waves, as well as bending and torsion. The method is also applied to two 3D test cases — a high pressure turbine stage, and a fan flutter problem.
