Saturable Absorbers for Solid-State Lasers,bsorbers, and specific SESAM designs, optimized for antiresonance versus resonance, dispersion, ultrabroadband, and standing wave field enhancement. Active Modelocking,ieved than previously predicted by Silberberg and Haus. The pulses become shorter with smaller negative GDD (assuming positive SPM), and this is ultimately limited by the onset of instabilities, as shown using soliton perturbation theory.
