| 描述 | This volume is a collection of papers which were presented at the Conference "The EU and Emerging Markets" organized by the Research Institute for European Affairs and ECSA Austria at Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration on 5/6 June 2007. The intention of this conference was to discuss the manifold aspects which evolve in the relation of the EU with emerging markets in Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America both with trade and investment. These markets have become more and more important for the EU which is reflected in the EU′s important initiatives for trade agreements with these economies. The volume starts with the papers presented by Dominick Salvatore, Fordham University New York, and Wilhelm Kohler, University of Tübingen, in their keynote lectures. Dominick Salvatore discusses the latest developments of the EU′s trade with emerging markets and shows that the EU can defend a comparative advantage vis-à-vis all its trading partners except for the Asian economies.
