Surface Phenomena in Powder Metallurgy Processes,he conditions for producing powders by different methods and the selection of compacting and sintering conditions are in most cases empirical. The theory of the shaping of a cermet article is in the initial stage of development and is far from being finalized.

Structural Features of the Interface Between Liquid Aluminum and a Cryolite-Alumina Melt,on of drops of metal in the electrolyte [1]. Its application to melts has provided information on the metal-slag interfaced] and matte-slag interface [3]. In the present work, the method of electrocapillary motion of drops of aluminum in a cryolite-alumina melt has been used in an attempt to elucidate the structural features of their interface.

Study of Surface Phenomena at the Interface Between Anode and Cryolite-Alumina Melt, densities. This is of particular importance in the determination of anode consumption under industrial conditions. It has been shown [3] that the quantity of “carbon scum” in the electrolyte depends to a considerable extent on current density. A study of the resistance of carbon electrodes to disintegration is therefore of practical interest.
