Thermal Properties of Aerogelsowing the analyses of the different aspects of heat transfer. Typical thermal conductivity values and radiative properties as well as their dependency on external conditions such as temperature or atmosphere are discussed for different classes of aerogels. This chapter concludes with a brief discussion about the specific heat of aerogels.

Postprocessings can be converted into carbon aerogels, and shaped aerogels with features too complex to mold can be produced. In this chapter, common examples of postprocessing steps used in the production of aerogels, including vapor-phase functionalization, annealing, pyrolysis, and shape control, are discussed.
