Formation of Calcic, Gypsiferous, and Saline Soils in certain sedimentary rocks and soil, but do not occur in primary (igneous) rocks. The constituent cations are found in common rock-forming silicates. Sulphur is common in magmatic ore deposits (sulphides). Sulphur, chlorine and carbon dioxide are common volcanic gases.
