Synthetic and Mechanistic Studies of Lewis Acid Mediated C-C-Bond Formation,tions occur stereoselectively with chelation control. The sense of diastereoselectivity can be reversed using metal and protective group tuning. Group transfer polymerization of acrylates can be induced by Znl. using RSSiMe. as initiators.

Lewis Acid Character and Selective Reactions of Penta-Coordinate Silicon Compounds,nd enantioselective allylation of aldehydes with pentacoordinate allylsilanes, and the new cleavage reaction of C-Si bonds are discussed. In these reactions, it is demonstrated that unique characters of pentacoordinate silicon species as a Lewis acid play an important role.
