Tidal Research and Seismicitybservations. Oceanic tides even may be more important than solid earth tides provided their loading effects. While instrumentation should more and more be set towards real time observations, it should be great if more young scientists could be involved in seismological research in Europe.

Possible Neotectonic Fault Movements in Norwaystigations carried out at Yrkje indicate possible postglacial movements of 6–13m vertically across a NNE-SSE trending fault. In addition, investigations of possible fault movements are being carried out based on geophysical surveys of upper sediments along the Skitfjord pipeline trail.

Some Problems Concerning the Seismicity of the North Sea Area concept aims to the evaluation of earthquake hazard. After having examined the case of the North Sea it is stated that an isoseismal map of the area is still missing and should be undertaken. The occurrence of seismic seawaves in the North Sea has an extremely low probability. Conclusions and recommendations.
