Incomputer vision and robotics, superquadrics are among the mostwidespread part models. Superquadrics are a family of parametricmodels that cover a wide variety of smoothly changing 3D symmetricshapes, which are controlled with a small number of parameters andwhich can be augmented with the addition of global and localdeformations. The book covers, in depth, the geometric properties ofsuperquadrics. The main contribution of the book is an originalapproach to the recovery and segmentation of superquadrics from rangeimages.
