A Finite Element Model for Transverse Cracks in Rotors Including Some Fracture Mechanics Aspectsss matrix for this element is a function of the orientation of the bending moment vector at the crack plane and crack depth. The stress intensity factors for this geometry have been computed by the authors allowing the incorporation of a crack growth law.

The Effects of a Transverse Crack on the Dynamics of a Circular Shaftdescribe the dynamic properties of the shaft in terms of the crack size, crack location, crack orientation and slenderness of the shaft. The application of this equation for crack detection in a rotating machine is then explored.

Development of Computerized on Line Condition Monitoring of Rotating Machinery — A Custom Based Apprre locus, unbalance vector etc., for preventive maintenance and diagnostics. The software also provides for display of cascade plots, Bode plots, orbit plots, etc. The application of the same for few cases are discussed.
