An Improved Procedure for Component Life Estimation with Applications,Local Strain Approach is used to determine the amount of fatigue damage from each harmonic component. The resulting cumulative damage is evaluated using Miner’s law, to provide an estimate of component life under given stress and thermal load conditions. Several examples which describe the application of this procedure are given.

Analysis of Rotors in Bearings,the first critical speed. Then the start-up and shut-down behaviour of a rotor is described. The influence of bearings also is studied using the Jeffcott model. A simple model shows the influence of bearing damping. In the last section the main aspects of unbalance behaviour of multi-bearing systems are discussed.
