The multi facets of Reverse Engineeringta from physical mock-up. We suggest to generalise the concept in two directions : first to consider others media than only physical and digital mock-up; second to explore the dimension of the process flow and to study reverse engineering as a general mean for the management of concurrent processes.

Smooth B-Spline Surface Approximation to Scattered Datamay have holes and may have arbitrary boundaries. The usual methods in Reverse Engineering subdivide the given cloud into rectangular parts and approximate these parts individually. In the presented paper an overall algorithm for tensor product B-spline approximation with free boundary curves is introduced.
