Nonequilibrium Phenomena in Shock Waves in Air,mperature results in exciting internal degrees of molecular freedom, dissociation and ionization take place, nitrogen oxides are formed, etc. Before we consider nonequilibrium phenomena in a shock wave in air it is expedient to describe briefly the thermodynamic and optical properties of heated air which is at complete statistical equilibrium.
