Insect Pests,ver. A considerable number of insects are primarily pests of red clover, or cause more damage to red clover than to other species. The biology and control of many of these pests were reviewed by Manglitz (1985) (Table 9.1). Only the more recent literature will be reviewed here.

Tetraploid Red Clover,esent, many tetraploid cultivars have been produced. Plant breeders of other countries, no doubt impressed with the Swedish results, have developed tetraploid cultivars that exceed diploid counterparts in many respects. The successes of the Swedish program was documented by Sjodin and Ellerstrom (1986).
