Theoretical Analysis of the Reduction of Pressure Wave Velocity by Internal Circular Tubes,ork-energy principle, a formula for the pressure wave velocity is derived. The differences between the derived formulas are analyzed. It is shown that the insertion of a tube with a low bulk elastic modulus may have a damping effect on the water hammer phenomenon, i.e., it reduces the pressure wave velocity and maximum pressure increase.

Modelling of Velocity Distribution in a Channel Partly Covered by Submerged Vegetation,evaluated using the measurement data from a laboratory experiment. The measurements and modelling have been carried out for different flow conditions. Applied models calibrated for low velocities were found to be extendable to the same vegetative condition during high velocities.

Monitoring of Riparian Vegetation Growth on Fluvial Sandbars,g the period July–December 2017, characterized by a dry period during the summer/autumn and a flood at the end of the year. The tracking of the vegetation patterns bounds provides some general indications on the role of a transient hydrology on the plants’ dynamics.
