The Time Course and Distribution of Water in the Resolution Phase of Infusion Edemaacute and chronic stages of brain edema has not been resolved. Moreover, it has been suggested by Cserr. and Bradbury., that edema fluid that flows into the CSF from the brain interstitium may be cleared by a lympathic pathway. The importance of this route in clearance of edema is unclear.

Vasogenic cerebral edema has been considered to be the most frequent type of edema, since it accompanies all focal lesions of the brain, such as tumors, hematomas, injuries and infectious lesions, and some stages of cerebral ischemia .
