Use of GPS in the South of Brazil Under Severe Ionospheric Conditionst GPS observations in such a way that precise geodetic relative positioning becomes difficult or sometimes even impossible. A German-Brazilian joint project was established on the use of GPS in South Brazil, an area with severe ionospheric conditions. The GPS data are also used to monitor the electron content of the ionosphere.
