Design of Temporal Relational Databases Based on Dynamic and Temporal Functional Dependenciesl dependencies. The purpose of this paper is to study how DFDs and TFDs affect database design in a temporally ungrouped historical data model. The result is a generalization of conventional normalization theory for temporal databases.

On Temporal Grouping modeling approach. Specifically, we address the concern over the lack of an algebra for this paradigm, by presenting such an algebra. In addition, we examine the semantics of two notions, coalescing and restructuring, from the perspective of a comparison between the temporally grouped and temporally ungrouped paradigms.

Transaction Support in a Temporal DBMSral DBMSs has not yet received enough research attention. In this paper, we present techniques for incorporating transaction support in a temporal DBMS, which is implemented as an additional layer to a commercial RDBMS. These techniques overcome certain limitations imposed by the underlying RDBMS, and avoid excessive increment of the log size.
