Applications of Samaniego Signatures to Bounds on Variances of Coherent and Mixed System Lifetimes,fetime distribution or its variance. In the i.i.d. case, for arbitrary mixed system we provide upper bounds on its lifetime variance, expressed in the single component variance units. Moreover, for fixed lifetime distributions, we describe mixed systems with minimal and maximal lifetime variances.

Multiobjective Reliability Allocation in Multi-State Systems: Decision Making by Visualization and hronized” diagrams which position the Pareto front points according to their proximity to ideal preference points and on the basis of this representation a two-step front reduction procedure is proposed. An application to a redundancy allocation problem of the literature concerning a multi-state system is used to illustrate the analysis.

Using D-Spectra in Network Monte Carlo: Estimation of System Reliability and Component Importance,Birnbaum importance measures (BIMs) can be expressed via these spectra. We demonstrate an efficient algorithm which calculates simultaneously system reliability spectrum and BIM spectra for all its components. Use of BIMs in optimal system design is discussed.
