Failure Models Indexed by Time and Usageaper we describe several methods by which reliability models indexed by time and usage may be constructed. The constructions rely on many of the most well known methods in reliability, such as the failure rate, proportional hazards and accelerated life. We demonstrate, by means of examples, that tractable models can be constructed.

Some Shifted Stochastic OrdersIn this paper we study some known and some new shifted orders. We compare them, we obtain some basic properties of them, we derive some closure properties of them, and we show how they can be used for stochastic comparisons of order statistics; that is, of .-out-of-. systems.

Evolutionary Systems in an Asymptotic Split Phase SpaceStochastic evolutionary systems described by processes with locally independent increments are considered with Markov switching in a split state space having a stoppage state. The average and diffusion approximation limit theorems are established. The application of limit theorems in maintenance and reliability problems are discussed.
