Reading a Magazine: Methodological Considerations,e book’s concern with the feminine subjectivity being extrinsically organized by dominant discourses. The idea here is that this volume, which by itself represents a dominant (academic) discourse, will not contribute to this by allowing women to speak for themselves in the study.

Reading a Magazine: The Interviews,he had read wedding magazines regularly before her wedding and found some of the articles instructive and inspiring. In comparison to the rest of the interviewees, she read texts in the prompt magazine in much more detail.

Reading a Magazine: Discussion,is has been favored over its breadth, it meant the difficult decision of limiting the discussion to four (out of eleven) interviews. Yet, before the discussion proceeds, it needs to be emphasized that patterns referred to below were also found in the conversations not included in this volume.

Finally, the investigation identifies what social identities, practices and relations are constructed and validated in the discourse of wedding magazines.
