Energy Transfer and Charge Separation Kinetics in the Reaction Center of , Studied by Picosecond Tim free energy difference between P* and the primary radical pair state to be ΔG = ?170±25 meV. No evidence was found for a significant heterogeneity in the electron transfer rates. The possible consequences of this data, in particular for the interpretation of the corresponding processes in purple bacterial reaction centers are discussed.
