Nuclear Medicine — Tool or Specialty?trate on one single problem, namely the shifting of emphasis in the utilization of nuclear medicine procedures from nuclear medicine itself to other special fields. PET Image Reconstruction for Pharmacokinetic Modeling of 5-[18F]Fluorouracil in Liver Tumorsl values. The lesion contrast improved with the number of iterations, but was accompanied by increasing image noise. More than 80 iteration steps were necessary to accurately quantify the drug 5-[.F]FU in the metastases (error ≤ 20%).

Effects of Distorted PET Projection Data on the Reconstructed Image Using Different Reconstruction As were ?30% to +30%. The reconstructed images and activity concentrations were not affected by the multiplicative distortions if ML-EM was applied, whereas additive distortions were best tolerated when FBP or AR-AC were used for image reconstruction.

Ventilation Scintigraphy of the Tympanic Cavity by Xenon-133ed from 2.1 to 0.5 (median: 1.0) and the normal half life from 11.5 min to 217.9 min (median: 96.2). Thus, middle ear ventilation scintigraphy proved to be an easy-to-perform and very low radiation-exposure test for evaluating Eustachian tube function.
