QDs for Sensing of Microorganisms,nisms or any biological substances. These biosensors can be based on DNA for detection of particular microbes and coupled with PCR to produce fluorescent signals. Some biosensors produce electric signals instead of the fluorescence and the change in the voltage can be taken as the detection signal.

This chapter sheds light on GQDs with spotlight on distinct features including optical, electronic and biomedical properties.
