Summary, (see Chapter 1.2). My conceptual and empirical findings show that family influence does indeed impact organizations’ responses to discontinuous technological changes, regarding their type of adaptation, as well as speed, intensity, stamina, and flexibility of the adoption of the new technology.

Introduction,Understanding how and why incumbent organizations do or do not adapt to discontinuous technological changes is one of the most intensively studied topics in organizational science and is also highly relevant for practitioners (e.g., Chesbrough, 2001; Christensen, 1997; Hill & Rothaermel, 2003).
