Survival Curves from Statistical Models,f X-rays is by electrical machines, such as the X-ray tube, in which a heating current is passed through a filament and at a sufficiently high temperature electrons boil off. Application of a high voltage across the tube guides these electrons to a target resulting in a violent impact that rays are produced from the disturbed atoms.

Kinetic Models of Biological Radiation Response,tic model was developed by Dienes (1966) which is a generalization of the previous models of Chapter 2 and does take into consideration intermediate steps, dose-rate and recovery effects. Some of his ideas are discussed in the present Chapter and it is shown how some of them reduce to the results of the “hit” and “target” models.
