Comets Unveiled,g back surveillance. Now, at long last, we have a good picture of what a comet is and how comets behave. Even so, there are still secrets to be uncovered and truths to be clarified, especially about how they fit into the grand scheme of things. That is what makes the observation and study of comets so worthwhile.

Advanced Research,brightness which occur when the comet becomes more or less active. These faint comets are the preserve of a few dedicated comet observers but modern equipment means that they are much easier to observe than they used to be.

Recent Great Comets,t was so bright for so long practically everyone, from dedicated comet observers to even the most disinterested member of the public, saw it. Hale-Bopp was probably seen by more people than any other comet in history.
