VISTRAFS: A Simulation Method for Strongly Interacting Viscous Transonic Flowdue to increasing operational costs. Secondly, computational power is getting cheaper and numerical methods are improving, which makes it possible to perform more realistic flow simulations at reasonable cost. Another advantage of computational methods is their ability to be used in optimization studies.

Coupling Procedures for Viscous-Inviscid Interaction for Attached and Separated Flows on Swept and T time-averaged form of the Navier-Stokes equations. Although there have been impressive advances in the numerical solution of these equations this approach is still beyond the resources of the aircraft designer.

A Critique of the Experimental Aerodynamic Data Base for an Oscillating Straked Wing at High Anglesome very important under such conditions. The understanding of these flow fields and dynamic effects is needed in order to design aircraft to exploit the concepts, however this represents several quantum jumps over current aerodynamic technology.

Stewartson Memorial Lecture: Experiments are Telling You Somethingsis on less expensive research; but it does not mean that the physical aspects of laminar, transitional and turbulent flows are adequately understood. Nor does it mean that the lessons of experiments already performed should be neglected or ignored.
