The Basic-Region Leucine-Zipper Family of DNA Binding Proteins, In this review, we will focus on the basic-region leucine-zipper or bZip motif, which is involved in dimerization and DNA recognition. Our emphasis will be on the relationship between the sequence and structure of the bZip motif, and the ways in which structural information relates to our understanding of the function of bZip proteins.

The Helix-Loop-Helix Motif,binding proteins containing zinc fingers, homeo-boxes, leucine zippers, etc. In this review I will discuss the structure and function of a new class of proteins that contain a region of homology in their DNA binding and dimerization domain, termed the helix-loop-helix (HLH) motif.
