Relationships Between Nitrogen Metabolism and Photosynthesis,Photosynthetic green cells generate reducing power from the oxidation of water to O., and use the reducing power for the reduction of CO., nitrate and sulfate. The principal products of green cells then are oxygen, sucrose and other carbon compounds, amino groups of amino acids, and sulfhydryl groups of amino acids.
