RF Structures for Linear Accelerators,Accelerators produce beams of various particles in a wide energy range. In linear accelerators (Linacs) particles are accelerated by electromagnetic fields on a linear path. They are used in large numbers as particle sources for low energies, as injectors for circular machines and as accelerator structures in large, synchrotrons and microtrons.

RF System Design for Control of Heavy Beam Loading in Circular Machines,Radio frequency cavities in an accelerator or storage ring may be influenced by the loading due to the circulating beam current. When the average beam current is high, the system stability may be affected, particularly if the power imparted to the beam exceeds that dissipated in the cavities.

This study assumes as typical the working condition where the energy subctracted by the bunches from the resonating field is a significant amount of the energy stored in the cavity, i.e. in a high beam loading regime.

Radio Frequency Systems for Present and Future Accelerators,machine. These gaps are usually part of a resonant structure driven by a source of radio frequency power. The frequency, phase and amplitude of the voltage appearing at the gap(s) is controlled by servo loops that use programmed inputs as well as error signals derived from the particle beam itself in many instances.
