The Role of Choline in Maintaining the Fine Structure of Nerve Terminals in the Superior Cervical Gnormal fine structure of presynaptic terminals. Results obtained shed more light on other aspects of the vesicle hypothesis elucidating one of the cellular mechanisms by which the disappearance of synaptic vesicles in stimulated cholinergic nerve terminals could be interpreted.

GABA as a Transmitter in the Central Nervous System of Vertebrates,Purkinje cells. They indicate that the same is true for the cerebellar stellate, basket and Golgi cells, the basket cells of the hippocampus, local inhibitory neurones in the cerebral cortex and the striato-nigral fibres. These may be but a small selection of all GABAneurones.

Interaction between Adrenergic and Cholinergic Systems: Presynaptic Inhibitory Effect of Noradrenalacetylcholine release mechanism seems to be of physiological importance. Furthermore, it is also shown that acetylcholine may regulate its own release by a negative feedback mechanism. Although this mechanism operates in brain cortex, no such phenomenon, however, was found in the Auerbach plexus.
