Neuropharmacology in the ICU: Monitoring the Therapeutic Response and Neurological Hemodynamic Impac causing unwanted effects. The use of monitoring techniques can serve as a tool for determining therapeutic responses to pharmacologic treatments and may be useful for guiding therapy. This chapter will focus on how the use of neurosonographic devices may help guide medication management in neurocritical care patients.

Transcranial Doppler (TCD/TCCS) and Cerebral Blood Flow: Applications in the Neurological Intensive ranscranial Doppler ultrasound in the neurological intensive care unit has also been used in head trauma, intracerebral hemorrhage, and assessing sources of ischemic stroke. Transcranial Doppler ultrasound has also been used as a confirmatory test for brain death.
