Structure of the Central Visual System and Pathways,se projection. Morphologically he defined the cortical analyzer as the largest concentration of cells, with the most compact arrangement. This structural concept “explained the existence of special analyzers, where the exceptionally dense concentration of elements makes the synthetic and analytical activity of the analyzer possible.”*

Specificity of Structure of the Central Visual System, also of their central portion. I shall here compare my findings with other studies of neurons. Neurons of the motor cortex have been studied by Zhukova (1950, 1953), and of the limbic cortex by Tsinda (1959, 1960). Important work was also carried out by Polyakov (1949), Cajal (1900–1906, 1911), Lorente de Nó (1922, 1938), and de Crinis (1933).
