Keratin Fiber Nonwovens for Erosion Control fabrics were characterized in ma-chine and cross directions for maximum load and elongation. Absorptive capacity and light transmission were also measured. The fabrics were successfully shown to prevent soil erosion.

The use of lignin as a partial substitute for phenol in closed cell lignophenolic foams reduces the thermal conductivity and allows classifying the lignophenolic foam as a thermal isolating structural foam.
