Olefin Cyclopropanation or Olefin Metathesis with Late Transition Metal Complexes?d rhodium-based complexes provide outstanding cyclopropanation catalysts, those two metals have no applications in olefin metathesis [1] Ruthenium-based complexes, on the other hand are known to mediate both olefin metathesis and/or cyclopropanation reactions [2], as sketched in scheme 1 for a cycloolefin.

Optically Active Polymers , ROMP of Enantiomerically Pure Monomersin a very specific highly regular way. Some of the typical properties of such biomaterials are a consequence of the high stereospecificity of their main chain. Thus it is a great challenge for the synthetic polymer chemist to synthesize molecules similar to that natural building principle.
