Production of Finely Divided Metals and Polymers,s (RSP). There are different techniques used in preparing finely divided polymer particles. Metal powders may be blended with polymer particles in a variety of ways, though thermal blending in extrusion equipment and blending into liquid polymer systems are also practiced. The material blending equipments are also reviewed in this chapter.

Hence, I have referred to many of the new coatings on metals or ceramics as polymer/metal composites because of the synergism of the combinations in achieving advanced technical functions.
