The Synthesis and Polymerization of Vinyl Organometallic Monomers,mers or copolymerization with conventional organic monomers. We have developed this second route to metal-containing polymers in a joint program of research over the past several years, and report here a summary of our recent results.

Ferrocene Polymers,ts..Polymers with linear or tridimensional structure showing semiconducting properties and a rather good thermal stability were obtained. Some of them were found to catalyse the polymerization of chloroformylated vinylic esters.

Biological Activities of Monomeric and Polymeric Derivatives of ,-Dichlorodiamineplatinum II,inum II (.-DPP) and .-tetrachlorodiamine platinum IV (.-TCP), with the activity of the c-DDP being the greatest. It was found that c-DDP is active against a wide range of tumors in man and animals leading to the licensing of c-DDP under the name Platinol. Platinol is also referred to as .-platin in the literature.
