The content is subdivided into two parts with the present part 1 covering ferrous alloys, i.e. about 170 steel grades, in a compact, database-oriented form. The knowledge of the deformation behaviour of materials is of vital importance in scientific research and in technical applications. The increasing use of numerical simulation in research and practice describes the real processes the better the more precise the response of the material, the processes at the interface between the material and the tools or technical facilities are characterized.
