On Exact Penalty Operators and Penalization Methods for Elliptic Unilateral Problems with Piecewise accuracy estimates of penalization methods for such obstacle problems for a wide class of penalty functions. The accuracy estimates obtained in the current paper are of the same order as known estimates for smooth obstacles.

On Error Control at Numerical Solution of Forth Order Elliptic Equations with Strongly Discontinuou. the coefficients are only insignificantly worse than those at .?≡const while computation of the bounds does not require equilibration. The a posteriori error bound for the mixed Ciarlet-Raviart method incorporates, as a part of the estimator, the a posteriori error bound for the primal problem.
