Retinal Blood Vessel Segmentation by Means of Scale-Space Analysis and Region Growingge, the growth is constrained to regions of low gradient magnitude. In the final stage this constraint is relaxed to allow borders between regions to be defined. The algorithm is tested in both red-free and fluorescein retinal images.

Active Shape Model-Based Segmentation of Digital X-ray Imagesng a minimum cost path search algorithm. We compare the two methods on a database of more than 400 manual segmentations of digital X-ray images of the femur, humerus and calcaneus. We evaluate the accuracy and robustness of both methods using a cross-validation procedure.
