Continuum Damage Mechanics Applied to Multi-Axial Cyclic Material Behavioureformation and failure for multi-axial behaviour presents many problems. The authors propose here some approaches to these problems. A non-linear kinematic hardening model and a multi-axial damage evolution law is used to model two simple bi-axial strain paths. Problems arising from these simulations are discussed and possible solutions proposed.

A Micromechanics Based Model for the Creep Of Ice Including the Effects of General Microcrackingvily microcracked material are examined in detail and a self consistent model is developed to describe the material response under multiaxial states of stress. The observed effect of hydrostatic pressure on the material response is predicted by the model.
