Belief Propagation on Partially Ordered Sets,of wide applicability. We will show that PBP can be thought of as an algorithm for minimizing a certain “free energy” function, and by exploiting this interpretation, we will exhibit a one-to-one correspondence between the fixed points of PBP and the stationary points of the free energy.

However, models of physical systems often have several independent variables (i.e., they are .-D systems), for example, time and space variables. In this paper we develop the theory of dissipative systems for .-D systems.

Numerics Versus Control,s for the inverse power iteration on projective space for real or complex shifts are presented, following [20, 22], and a connection with output feedback pole assignability is mentioned. Controllability of the algorithm on Hessenberg flags is shown. This implies controllability of the shifted QR-algorithm on Hessenberg matrices.
